Restaurants and Pubs

We would recommend using TripAdvisor, as this will be right up to date with the service levels of local restaurants. As a personal recommendation, we always enjoy a visit to our ‘local’, which is the Royal Oak at Curthwaite. Their website is here. The food is consistently good and whilst at just under two miles away, it may be a little too far for many to walk, it is an easy cycle or a very short drive.

For lunch, we would recommend The Monkey Tree in Wigton. You can eat inside or take away. If you visit them on TripAdvisor, you will see that they have some of the highest ratings on there. They provide Mediterranean Deli style food, and their takeaway lunchboxes are a real treat, as is the local brewed coffee.
